A recent British Journal of Psychiatry study of 17,500 people found that 10-year-olds who ate sweets daily were significantly more likely to have a violent conviction by age 34. The research showed that 69% of the participants who were violent at the age of 34 had eaten sweets and chocolate nearly every day during childhood, compared to 42% who were non-violent. Nutrition effects our brains and the brain's of our children.
Additionally, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) currently estimates that 1/3 of children born in 2000 will develop Type 2 diabetes in their lifetime. Type 2 diabetes is lifestyle "adult onset" diabetes and is entirely related to diet and exercise. Shockingly, the CDC believes that this 1/3 of children born in 2000 may not outlive their parents. What a tragedy. Even more so because we can prevent this tragedy.
